There is a continual dialog between immediacy and distance in my paintings. Observed space and imagined space frequently occupy the same canvas. Dream characters enter scenes painted from life. Subjects are seen in depth of field through multiple frames. Windows reveal as much about what we can see as what lies beyond our limited frame of observation and reference.
